Dynamic Core Strength and Flexibility Group Exercise

Improve your flexibility, strength, core activation and breathing control with our mat-based group exercise sessions. Sue Dobbs and Tash White both offer individual and group sessions tailored to suit you. These sessions are ideal for anyone rehabilitating from injury, or keen to improve mobility and strength. The programs are progressed gradually with emphasis on technique to allow safe and successful strengthening. One or more individual initial consultations are completed before you join a class to allow us to identify your personal goals and plan a program unique to you. During these initial sessions strength baselines are established and key exercises are practised. Mat based group sessions have a maximum of 10 participants per class and run for 60 minutes. Our timetable offers classes during and after-hours options.Contact us for more information.
Rehabilitation

A focus on active treatment programs sees our physios using our gym and group exercise sessions for injury management. For rehabilitation progressions we can utilise your choice of location which may include The Valleys Lifestyle Centre or Combined Strength Gym Clare.
Current research evidence for managing many health conditions is the effectiveness and importance of targeted exercise. Having the capacity for the tissues of your body to withstand the activities you put it through is essential in rehabilitation.
Aquatic Physiotherapy (Hydrotherapy)

Aquatic Physiotherapy refers to movement and exercise for rehabilitation carried out in a warm pool. The Valleys Lifestyle Centre Heated Indoor Pool has been designed to accommodate aquatic physiotherapy and we hire the pool weekly for exclusive use with our clients. The pool has a rail on 3 edges and steps with rails for easy access. It is 10 metres long and heated to 32 degrees.
Aquatic physiotherapy can help many conditions that result in pain, stiffness, weakness, de-conditioning or low fitness, balance problems or difficulties moving. Your individual program will be tailored depending on the stages of your rehabilitation with progressions added as required.
Aquatic exercise can result in improvements in walking, balance, pain and quality of life in hip and knee arthritis or joint replacements, other types of arthritis, older adults, fibromyalgia and low back pain.

GLA:D Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis Management

What is GLA:D Australia?
GLA:D®, Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark, is an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms. This program has been so successful that it is now embraced by doctors and physios worldwide as the first line management for hip or knee osteoarthritis.
Research from the GLA:D® program in Australia shows an average pain reduction of 36%, reduced analgesic consumption, reduction in perceived need for surgery, and clinically meaningful improvement in joint confidence.
Education and exercises provided can be applied to everyday activities, ensuring our participants develop skills to self-manage their osteoarthritis. By strengthening and improving confidence with exercise, our participants develop better capacity to become or stay active, prevent symptom progression and reduce pain.
We currently run GLA:D sessions three times per week at Physio Clare.
Oncology Rehabilitation

At Physio Clare we have a fully qualified cancer rehab physiotherapist, Gayle Barry, here to support, guide and rehabilitate people through every stage of their treatment and recovery. Gayles cancer rehabilitation training has been completed through PINC & STEEL who have been the pioneering force behind the cancer rehabilitation movement in New Zealand and Australia since 2005.
There are now more people surviving a cancer diagnosis, but they can face an increased risk of extended health problems, premature mortality and harsh side effects from their treatment.
The rehabilitation program at Physio Clare is targeted to each client and may be done individually, or in small groups.
